Representing the Highlands district at Kilgraston School at the inter-district against the East, West, North East, and South of Scotland. I proudly won 8 out of 8 matches in the under 15 age group and in turn helped the Highlands district finish 4th out of 8 districts. This was a record finish for a district without a single indoor tennis court.
More recently, I helped Lomond Park TC progress from being a third division East of Scotland tennis team to a 1st division team.

Rafael Nadal.
I love his determination on court and his respect for the opposition after closely fought matches.
Marcus Watt

Marcus has been playing Tennis since he was 5 years old, and started his journey at Blackhall Tennis Club in Edinburgh. Marcus plays tennis competitively and coaches all standards of players from tots to adults. He started coaching tennis at the age of 15 and has been a fully qualified coach for 6 years. Marcus is a kind and approachable coach who is always looking to help people improve their tennis with his fun energy on court, and always puts a smile on peoples' faces.

I have really enjoyed coaching the kids programme at Lomond Park as it has really increased my experience with working with children. I have also been teaching a lot of individual lessons which has really helped to build my experience towards my Level 3 coaching qualification.
-
Roger Federer.
I see Roger as the king of Tennis, and a real role model in never giving up. His success has really given Tennis a boost and helped people participate to grow the sport. Tennis is for everyone and everyone should feel confident to get involved and enjoy the game like I do.
Rory Grant
Assistant Coach
-
Rory grew up playing tennis in Inverness and competed around the country. Rory was fortunate enough to have a coach in Inverness who created a fantastic program which encouraged learning, building friendships and creating memories (where Rory met our Head Coach Jamie). Rory trained and coached together with Jamie in their teenage years before Jamie left for University.
Rory began coaching at 16 and immediately got his level 1 and soon after level 2. Rory then moved to university and studied to become a PE teacher, and now works in Special education. Despite working full time in education, Rory works in tennis coaching part time as he doesn't want to miss out on all of the fun to be had on court!
-
I am very fortunate to have many very happy moments in tennis. However my favourite has to be when I became the youngest Men’s Club champion in Inverness aged 15. There are some great players who have won the club champs so it’s a real honour to have my name on the trophy.
-
I have always had a 'go big or go home' attitude when I play tennis. With this I have to say my favourite player is Fernando Gonzalez.
A fantastic player with loads of flare and arguably the biggest forehand of any player. You were always guaranteed a show whenever he stepped onto court.
James Beaton - Hill
Assistant Coach
-
From first picking up a tennis racket at the age of 5 James was instantly hooked. Playing weekly through lessons, with friends and competitors allowed James to develop his skills as a player and coach. James draws on all of his tennis experiences to facilitate fun and enjoyable sessions whilst simultaneously grounding the fundamental skills of the game! James has also enjoyed representing the George Heriot’s First IX as Lomond Park’s U18 squad throughout his years as a junior, even helping them achieve a promotion last season.
James couldn’t wait to complete his coaching qualifications, having assisted at lessons since the age of 14. When James turned 16, he raced through his Level 1 and 2, meeting some great tennis players on the way, and is now a fully accredited Level 2 Tennis Coach.
James can be found on court 7 days a week, whether it be coaching, hitting or competing and embodies a real passion for the game. Whenever James is on court you can be guaranteed a fun session full of energy!

My favourite tennis moment must be captaining my Schools 1st IX Tennis Team at the LTA Regional Finals where we placed 4th out of all schools in the North of Britain. It was a great experience and I loved every minute of it!
-
Although I like many of the players on the ATP Tour my favourite has to be Gael Monfils, because of his flair, shot making and determination to not let any ball bounce twice. Despite now being one of the older players on tour Monfils is still sure to rack up some crazy atmospheres and with some mind blowing rallies.
